The plans for a new playground in downtown Sayre are moving forward.
According to the Morning Times, First Citizens Community Bank has officially transferred ownership of the property on the corner of Allison Street and West Lockhart Street to Sayre Borough.
The Friends of the Valley Playland and Futurescapes will be leading the effort to revitalize the playground at 306 West Lockhart Street.
The non-profit group is looking to create a miniature version of the Valley Playland on the property.
Preliminary plans include swings, monkey bars, tight rope course, slides, a fire pole and more.
The project is estimated to cost around $300,000 and is expected to be completed by the summer of 2027.
