Registration is now open for the 42nd annual Guthrie Gallop on Saturday, May 16.
This yearly kick-off to spring is expected to draw over 400 runners ready to dash into the season with a 10K or 5K race.
The courses begin at the historic Sayre Theatre, located at 205 South Elmer Ave., and wind through the streets of Sayre and Athens Boroughs.
The 10K begins at 8 a.m. and the 5K at 9:30 a.m. A Kids’ Fun Run kicks off at 9:15 a.m.
Runners may also compete virtually. Participants can run anytime and anywhere prior to May 16, record their own time and challenge themselves by tracking other virtual racers. The honor system will apply when logging race times.
All proceeds from the Guthrie Gallop benefit the Guthrie Cancer Care Fund. Last year’s event raised over $25,000.
