Three Waverly residents are facing charges after they allegedly abandoned numerous kittens.
According to the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office, three kittens were intentionally dropped off on the side of Ellis Creek Road on Feb. 23.
Following an investigation, 42-year-old Jessica L. Travis was charged with four counts of torture or injuring animals, failure to provide sustenance, four counts of abandonment of animals and one count of conspiracy.
An unnamed 18-year-old man is facing the same charges as Travis, while an unnamed 19-year-old woman was charged with conspiracy in the sixth degree.
The kittens were taken to the Spencer Animal Hospital and have been placed in new homes.
