Have you penciled in the preeminent summer festival of the year? You’re invited to an evening of friends, food, and fundraising in our manicured flower garden on the banks of the Chemung River. Join the festivities on Wednesday, August 13th from 5 to 8 p.m.
This unique and tasty fundraiser features a variety of delectable offerings from local food and beverage sponsors. This year, we welcome back the vintages of Damiani Wine Cellars for their eighth tasting with us! Local micro-brews will be provided by Lane’s Beverage, and Bluestone Brewery will join us again with their artfully crafted refreshments. We are excited for Staggering Unicorn’s first tasting event with us since the move to their new location on Main Street in Athens! Guests will also be able to sample wines from Joe Perry Winery and Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards. You’ll enjoy all this amidst the sounds of DJ Aaron Calhoun’s mellow music mix.
Our annual summer festival provides an opportunity for you to raise your glass in support of two of Athens’ most beloved historic treasures, Spalding Memorial Library and Tioga Point Museum – staples of the Athens community since 1897 and 1895 respectively.
A number of local eateries will be joining us with some of their most mouthwatering goodies. Along with popcorn and trail mix, you can try various dishes from Ulike Chinese Restaurant or Mooney’s famous mac and cheese! Kurt’s Making Whoopie will return with his famous Whoopie Pies! Applebee’s will be offering up boneless chicken wings in various flavors and it wouldn’t be an event without Dandy Mini Mart! Those of you who crave a Parrish’s sub look no further! Joining us with their mouth-watering pizza for the first time is Chumpy’s Pizza!
Cheese lovers do not despair – Engelbert Farms will be sharing samples of their delicious organic cheese and smoked sausage. Make sure you pair your cheese and sausage with a roll from Mastracchios Bakery! Those looking for a gluten-free option look no further- Hilltop Restaurant will make an appearance with their famous Au Gratin potatoes; and Jack Wheeler is joining us again with his much loved gluten-free cookies. Beeman’s is returning this year with a yummy selection of finger foods.
Sam’s Bar & Grill will be bringing Buffalo Chicken dip & chips and pasta salad. We will also welcome Birds Nest Café with some sweet treats, and we are excited for Growen Foods to return with their delicious pizza! And don’t forget to try one of Sweet Lucy’s gorgeous cookies. Joining us for the first time is the Valley’s newest eatery, Fulton Street Market, with some hors d’oeuvres for dinner and dessert! With so many delicious choices, no one should go home hungry!
