Yesterday was primary day in New York. In the contested statewide races, Andrew Cuomo was re-nominated for Governor on the Democratic ticket in a landslide over Cynthia Nixon. In the four-way race for Attorney General, Letitia James, of Brooklyn received the nomination.
Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul held off a strong challenge from New York City’s Jumaane Williams. Hochul received solid support in almost every upstate counties.

In the Republican 122nd Assembly District primary, incumbent Clifford Crouch held off the challenge of the late Tom Libous’s son Nick Libous. Crouch won 72% to 28%.
Tompkins County Sheriff Ken Lansing lost the Democratic Party nomination to Derek Osborne. Osborne won 61% to 39%. Lansing will be on the ballot in November under the Independence Party banner.
In the race for Town of Union Supervisor, Frank Bertoni has won the Republican nomination by 42 votes over Kenneth Delbianco. Richard Materese won the Democratic nomination.
