A bill is being introduced in the New York state Legislature that could allow minors to get vaccinated even if parents say no. The legislation is coming from Assembly member Patricia Fahy and Sen. Liz Krueger. According to the Associated Press the measure would authorize anyone 14 or older to get immunizations even if their parents object. The sponsors of the bill say too many parents have accepted unsupported claims that vaccines are unsafe.
