Senator Fred Akshar has released his latest in a series of online surveys that he says is an effort to listen his constituents. Akshar is asking his constituents to weigh in on the Governor’s proposal to legalize recreational marijuana. Governor Cuomo estimates that legalization would bring in $300 million each year in tax revenue when fully implemented in 2023. Akshar says he is personally opposed to legalizing recreational pot, but added that he wouldn’t be doing his job as State Senator if he didn’t actively listen to the people he represents. You can find the survey on his senate website Akshar.NYSenate.gov.
