Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced $204 million to support 95 projects that he says will protect and transform New York State’s health care system. Cuomo said this funding will improve patient care through the development of high-quality medical facilities and programs serving the inpatient, primary care, mental health, substance use disorder and long-term care needs of communities throughout the State. About $325,000 will flow to Susquehanna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The money will be used to construct a new outpatient rehabilitation clinic to provide specialized services for patients with Parkinson’s Disease and other disorders. $3.9 million was awarded to Family Counseling Services of Cortland County. The money will help the construction of a two-story addition to integrate primary care services, introduce substance use disorder treatment, expand mental health services, and improve accessibility for people with disabilities. Meanwhile $1.6 million will help Family Services of Chemung County retire some debt.
