NYS Burn Ban Began Saturday

In case you missed the story from earlier this week…beginning Sarurday and continuing until May 14th…there will be a ban on outside burning in New York State. It’s an annual ritual to reduce wildfires. Historically, open burning of debris is the largest single cause of spring wildfires in New York State. When temperatures are warmer and the past fall’s debris, dead grass, and leaves dry out, wildfires can start and spread easily and be further fueled by winds and a lack of green vegetation. If you burn, you expect to pay a hefty price.
