A Johnson City man was arrested on Thursday following a domestic violence incident.
According to police, 25-year-old Christian J. Hawkins was charged with burglary, assault, aggravated contempt, criminal obstruction of breathing and unlawful imprisonment.
Johnson City Police were called to Floral Ave. at around 11:40 a.m. on Thursday for a report of a female victim who was physically assaulted and choked against her will.
The victim was able to escape and went to a different residence, but Hawkins allegedly followed her there, forced himself inside and assaulted her again. The victim already had an order of protection against the suspect.
The suspect fled on foot, but was later found in a wooded area near the Floral Avenue Cemetery.
Hawkins was processed and taken to Broome County Central Arraignment.
