WAVERLY — The Waverly Police Department has announced the arrest of a 37-year-old Gillett woman after she allegedly stole from the store she worked at.
Ashley J. Matthews has been charged with felony grand larceny following an investigation by the Waverly Police Department.
According to a press release, Waverly Police received a report of allegations of an employee stealing cash deposits from the Dollar General store located on Broad Street.
A regional loss prevention manager for Dollar General originally investigated the allegations and reported the theft to police. In total, the suspect allegedly stole $12,629.92 in cash deposits.
Matthews was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Village of Waverly Justice Court and released.
