The investigation into the fatal limousine crash in the Albany area has revealed that the limo involved had failed inspection last month and it should not have been on the road. In addition, the driver of the limo did not have the appropriate license to be operating that vehicle. An investigation into the limo’s mechanical soundness is on-going. Police are in possession of the black box, and it is currently being analyzed. The vehicle is owned by Prestige. There is an effort to stop Prestige from operating until the investigation is concluded. The victim’s have not been officially identified, though several victims have been identified on social media. There are reports the 18 people in the limo were going to the Ommegang Brewery in Cooperstown, but that report has not been confirmed.
