Update: Police Involved Shooting in Stanfordville

There is an update on yesterday’s report of a police involved shooting near Poughkeepsie. At about 11AM Tuesday, the state police answered a call that an intoxicated individual, armed with a knife, was threatening a woman at a restaurant in Stanfordville, NY. Two troopers
attempted to communicate with 41-year-old Jaime Lopez. During the interaction Lopez didn’t follow verbal instructions and made an aggressive movement. Trooper Kevin Wolensky fired two shots, striking Lopez, who was transported to the hospital where he later died. The woman inside the vehicle was uninjured. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
