Three Additional Deaths as Tioga’s Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Trending to 1,000

Tioga County Chairwoman Martha Sauerbrey and the Tioga County Legislature reported an additional three deaths Thursday of county residents, increasing the total to 46 deaths since mid-March. A statement said Sauervrey and the Legislature are deeply saddened to report the loss of three more residents. Our heartfelt sympathies, prayers, and thoughts are with the loved ones.

The statement also read: “With the recent announcement of the Yellow Zone in the Village of Waverly, the continual increase in COVID cases and the loss of the lives of our residents; the message is clear. We must all do more. We must consider our daily actions and do what we must to reduce the number of COVID cases. This is all about personal responsibility. Wear a mask for the protection of other people, gather in much smaller groups and follow safe protocols. It is up to you.”

COVID-19 UPDATE – NOVEMBER 12, 2020

Owego, NY – Tioga County Legislature Chairwoman Martha Sauerbrey reported the following Tioga County COVID-19 Statistics:

·         925 Confirmed Cases – Total confirmed cases, to date.

·         638 Individuals in Mandatory Quarantine – These are individuals who have had close contact (6 ft.) with someone who has tested positive, but is not displaying symptoms for COVID-19; or individuals that have traveled to China, Iran, Japan, South Korea, or Italy and is displaying symptoms of COVID-19; or individuals who traveled outside of New York State to one of the states identified by the Governor with a mandatory 14-day quarantine period upon return. 

·         596 Recovered – Total number of individuals who had a confirmed case of COVID-19 and are now symptom and fever-free that meet the criteria to be released from Isolation.

·          283 Active Cases

·            46 Deaths
