A public statement Tuesday from Tioga County again reminded residents that family and small social gatherings and school connections continue to be a leading cause of community spread. Tioga Public Health is highly encouraging everyone to stay home if you are sick or experiencing symptoms. Also, continue to social distance and wear masks when in public.

COVID-19 UPDATE – FEBRUARY 9, 2021
Owego, NY – Tioga County Legislative Chairwoman Martha Sauerbrey reported the following Tioga County COVID-19 Statistics:
- 2,672 Confirmed Cases – Total confirmed cases, to date.
- 302 Individuals in Mandatory Quarantine – These are individuals who have had close contact with someone who has tested positive, but is not displaying symptoms for COVID-19; or individuals who traveled outside of New York State.
- 2,330 Recovered – Total number of individuals who had a confirmed case of COVID-19 and are now symptom free that meet the criteria to be released from isolation.
- 274 Active Cases
- 68 Deaths
