Tioga Deputies Recover Stolen Skid Steer, Waverly Man Charged with Grand Larceny

On Sunday, the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 79 Golden Road, Town of Barton, in connection to a month long investigation of a stolen Caterpillar skid steer and Bobcat grapple attachment from a location in the Town of Spencer. The search warrant resulted in the recovery of the stolen property.

As a result of the investigation, Zachary T. Dean, age 24, of 79 Golden Road, Waverly, was arrested for Grand Larceny in the third degree, a class D Felony. The defendant was arraigned before Justice Richard Gorman of CAP Court and Dean was released. Dean is scheduled to appear in front of Justice David Homrighouse in the Town of Spencer Court on December 12 at at 4:00 p.m.

The investigation is still pending and additional arrests and charges are anticipated. The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office was assisted during the investigation by the Waverly Police Department. The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the public for their assistance in the recovery of the stolen property. The numerous tips that were provided by the public helped lead to recovery and arrest.
