New York State Police have formally processed Christian J. Buck, age 27, of Binghamton, with the following charges after he was released Sunday from UHS Wilson Medical Center:
- Reckless Endangerment in the first degree, Class D Felony
- Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree, Class E Felony
- Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Misdemeanor
- Unlawfully Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle (two counts) Class A Misdemeanor
- Reckless Driving, Misdemeanor
Buck was processed and transported to Broome County Central Arraignment and Processing on Sunday for five of the six charges that occured in the town of Vestal (Broome County). Buck was additionally issued an appearance ticket for one count of Unlawfully Fleeing an Officer in Motor Vehicle in Tioga County. He is scheduled to appear in the Tioga County Court on August 6on that charge.
UPDATE (June 27, 2020):
The trooper involved in the crash was transported to Lourdes Hospital on Friday night, he was treated and released. He is a seven year veteran with the New York State Police.
The driver of the vehicle, Christian J. Buck, age 27, of Binghamton, was transported to Wilson Hospital. He was admitted overnight for observation. Charges are pending.
Two occupants in the vehicle, Lucas S. Pierce, age 37, of Owego, was transported to Wilson Hospital, he was treated and released. Matthew B. Basos, age 36, of Owego, was transported to Wilson Hospital, he was also treated and released.
Original Release:
On June 26, 2020 New York State Police at Owego received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle. At approximately 8:57 p.m., a trooper on State Route 17 in Owego spotted the vehicle committing vehicle and traffic infractions and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
The driver of the vehicle led troopers on a pursuit that ultimately ended in a crash on Vestal Parkway involving a New York State Police vehicle and the vehicle that was involved in the pursuit. The trooper and three people that were in the vehicle were all transported to Wilson Hospital.
