Vestal High School seniors Theodore Donacik, Carlin Reyen, Sukhjit Singh and Grace Xiao have qualified as finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program based on their outstanding academic achievement and commendable scores on their Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Tests (PSATs).
The four students received Certificates of Merit and will be among those finalists considered for approximately 7,500 Merit Scholarships.
“It’s a great honor to be named as a National Merit Finalist,” said Christi Smith, of Vestal High School’s
Counseling and Guidance department. “To have four in one class is an amazing accomplishment for our entire program. All four are outstanding students who have challenged themselves academically throughout their years at Vestal. They deserve this top recognition, and we are extremely proud of them all.”
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation is an independent, not-for-profit organization that conducts two academic competitions for recognition and college undergraduate scholarships.
