Waverly Police: Village man arrested for threatening to kill officers

(Waverly, NY) – On Sunday, April 10 at 5:15 p.m., Waverly Police arrested DAVID DOUGLAS HARFORD, age 44, of 107 Tracy Road, Waverly, on warrants for terroristic threats and menacing, following investigation into recent neighborhood disturbance calls on Tracy Road.

HARFORD was taken into police custody at his home without incident.

HARFORD had threatened to murder two Waverly police officers who were lawfully approaching his residence in relation to a police investigation on April 7 at or about 3:00 p.m. At that time, he retreated to his home and refused to cooperate with the investigating officers.

HARFORD then on April 9 at 1:09 p.m. threatened a US Postal Carrier with serious physical harm while the carrier was on his route on Clinton Avenue in Waverly.

HARFORD was arrested and taken to the Tioga County, New York CAP Court for arraignment and to await further legal action

Waverly Police were assisted by Sayre PA Police, Tioga County Sheriff’s Department, New York State police and  Greater Valley EMS.
