Veterans Day is Sunday in the Southern Tier … the 100th anniversary of World War I’s final hours … will be observed Sunday at 11am at the Glenn A. Warner Memorial Hall of Owego VFW Post 1371 … also at many churches in Tioga, Bradford and Susquehanna counties, Bells of Peace will ring 21 times at 11am Sunday.
The service to honor veterans at the VFW will include a bugle call, remembrance of Gold Star Mothers and Families along with POWs and MIAs, remembrance of local Civil War deaths, reading of the Honor Roll of Tioga County veterans who died since Memorial Day and presentation of awards to three veterans of modern warfare.
The Veterans Day Service will be broadcast live on Your Hometown Station WEBO at 11am Sunday from the Glenn A. Warner Memorial Hall.
