No decision was made after several community members encouraged the Johnson City Board of Education to establish school resource officers or SRO’s. Endicott Police Chief Patrick Garey spoke to the board, strongly urging members to create the positions. Garey said teachers can’t teach and students can’t learn if they don’t feel safe.
