After-school activities resumed Wednesday afternoon at Union-Endicott High School after the building was locked down mid-day when two unauthorized individuals entered the school. Superintendent Suzanne McLeod said a lockdown was ordered at 12:20 p.m. due to what shae called “a potential threat.” The lockdown was lifted at 2:20 p.m. after a thorough search of the high school and its grounds.

One suspect was detained without incident, another was interviewed by police. Numerous police agencies, including the Endicott Police Department, were on the scene. No police agency or school official has issued an official statement with the names of the intruders or how and why they entered the building. McLeon stressed that no students, staff or faculty were in danger at anytime. The district’s emergency response plan was followed and executed by staff, administrators and students, she said.
