On April 11 at approximately 10:16 a.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Daniel H. Belue, age 35 of Groton, for the felony of burglary in the third degree. A trooper was dispatched to a residence on Groton City Road in the town of a Groton, Tompkins County, for a report of a stolen John Deere tractor and batteries on April 8.
With the assistance of the complainant, the trooper was able to locate the stolen tractor at a residence in Summerhill on April 9. The trooper learned that the lawn mower was sold to the resident by Belue, but the person who purchased the tractor from Belue did not know the tractor was stolen.
After the investigation, Belue was arrested and arraigned in the town of Groton Court where he was released on his own recognizance.
