The New York State Senate Majority this week approved legislation that leaders say will combat gun violence and protect all New Yorkers. Some of the elements of the legislation…it bans armed teachers in schools. Another bill allows law enforcement officials, family and household members and certain school officials to seek a court order requiring a person likely to harm themselves or others to relinquish any firearms in their possession. Senator Tom O’Mara of Big Flats voted against the measure.  Another bill bans bump stocks.
