SAYRE, P.A. – Radigan Media is pleased to announce the addition of local Valley native and longtime sports writer Pat McDonald to the Radigan Media family of stations. Starting in late June, McDonald will begin full-time as News and Sports Director of all 17 locally owned Radigan Media radio stations, as well as become the Managing Editor of MyHometownToday.com. Additionally, McDonald will become part of the Choice 102 morning show Monday-Friday.

“I am thrilled to be making the move to the Radigan Media family team, and I’m ready to take on new challenges, while also continuing to do what I love — serve our local community through providing great news and sports coverage,” McDonald said.

McDonald, who is a graduate of Athens Area High School, has served as a sports writer and managing editor of the Morning Times, and more recently as the executive sports editor of the Morning Times and Daily Review. In recent years, McDonald has also been one of the lead broadcasters for the Morning Times’ sports live streams.

“I have loved every minute of working for our local newspapers and I can’t thank Kelly Luvison and everyone there enough for all their support over the years,” said McDonald.

“Working in radio has always been something I’ve thought about. Chuck Carver brought me on the radio several times over the years to talk sports. I can tell you that those times sitting across from Chuck in the old Choice studio were unbelievable experiences for me and something I will remember forever,” he said. “Chuck is a true legend in the Valley and he gave me plenty of chances over the years. From those times talking with him for his morning show, to giving me a chance to call games alongside legends like Mike Miller and Bob Baker.”

McDonald is also excited to take on the role of Sports Director to help Choice 102 in the Valley, 95.3 The Bridge in Towanda, WEBO in Owego, and 94 Rock WLVY/99.5 WOKN in Elmira/Corning expand their local news and high school sports coverage.

“Sitting in the studio that Chuck used to will be surreal for me. He is someone I always admired and looked up to, and to be joining his legacy of being part of the Choice 102 morning show is an honor,” McDonald said. “I have plenty of ideas for the morning show, and I also look forward to bringing the Valley, Owego, Towanda, Elmira, Corning, and surrounding areas more high school sports coverage — from football in the fall to basketball and wrestling in the winter and baseball and softball in the spring.”

“Pat is one of the finest veteran news and sports reporters in our area, and it is extremely important to me that we have someone local, who knows the area, covering the events that are important to the communities we serve,” according to Dave Radigan, CEO of Radigan Media. “Our company has grown quickly since COVID as legendary station owners have decided to retire, and we are honored to continue their traditions on these fine stations, while leverage their unrivaled heritage together to truly serve our community, locally, like no else can or is willing to do. This is our home too, we love it here, we are looking forward to waking up to Pat’s news and sports on our local stations,” Radigan said. “Pat McDonald is a perfect fit to our operation, and we are eager for him to join us soon.”
