The trial of Joseph Percoco, a former top aide to Andrew Cuomo, went into deliberations on March 1st. On Tuesday, the jury told the judge that they were hopelessly deadlocked. Joseph Percoco is alleged to have accepted more than $300,000 in payoffs from businessmen in two separate corrupt schemes. Peter Galbraith Kelly is alleged to have given Percoco’s wife a $90,000 per year job that did not require her to show up for work on a regular basis. Kelly wanted Percoco’s help in securing a state contract for his company, Competitive Power ventures. Also on Tuesday, several jurors sought to be released from the jury for work and babysitting related reasons. The judge rejected all requests and ordered the jurors to continue deliberations.
