Tioga County Veterans: June is PTSD Awareness Month

SHARE NOW

Tioga County and the Tioga County Veterans’ Service Agency are recognizing June as PTSD Awareness Month. On June 19, the Tioga County Veterans’
Service Agency will be hosting a second community conversation entitled, “The War Within”, Part 2. This will be a facilitated conversation involving a panel of
experts around the issues of PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury, Substance Use Disorder and Suicide and their impact on the lives of veterans and what we are doing to help them in our County. This conversation is open to all. Lunch will be provided to all attending.

Following lunch there will be a free training provided by the Tioga County Suicide Prevention Coalition. This training will provide you with information and an understanding of veteran/military culture, veteran suicides and risk factors, how to talk with a veteran in an objective and non-threatening way; as well as how and where to refer them for help and treatment.

This event is free but registration is required. You can register by calling 607-687-8228.
