The Tioga Tigers brought home the fifth state title in program history as they earned a hard-fought 42-31 win over Tuckahoe in the New York Class D football state final on Friday.
Tioga trailed 15-6 early in the second quarter but the Tigers rallied with a touchdown pass from Jackson Bombard to Kadin Cole and a touchdown run from Logan Bellis to take an 18-15 lead at halftime.
The two teams traded touchdowns in the third quarter which left Tioga with a 26-23 lead heading to the fourth.
Bellis scored two of his five touchdowns in the fourth quarter to help the Tigers clinch the victory.
Tioga has now won five state championships since 2015.
