Four Arrested for Selling Alcohol, Tobacco to Minors

During the past week the Broome County Sheriffs Office has conducted an Alcohol and Tobacco compliance check of 53 stores in the Broome County area.
The Sheriffs Office was assisted by three minors who entered the stores and attempted to purchase alcohol and or tobacco products.
49 times the stores complied with the law, 4 times prohibited sales were made to the children.
The following people were arrested and ordered to appear in the Local Criminal Courts where the violations occurred:
– Rosemarie Wagner: Prohibited Sale of Alcohol to a person under 21 years of age. Manley’s Might Mart, 889 Front St., Binghamton.
– Karen Tillotson: Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 2nd degree for selling a tobacco product to a 16 year old. Manley’s Might Mart Rt. 26, Maine.
– Lahb Singh: Prohibited Sale of Alcohol to a person under 21 years of age. Citgo Conklin Ave., Binghamton
– Travis Finch: Prohibited Sale of Alcohol to a person under 21 years of age. Sunoco Chapel St Windsor
The stores will also be referred to the New York State Liquor Authority regarding the license violations and the Broome County Health Dept. regarding the tobacco sale to a minor.
