Two people in an SUV suffered non-life-threatening injuries Monday afternoon in a crash with a Maine-Endwell school bus in the Town of Union, according to New York State Police.
Troopers from the Endwell barracks responded at about 2:50 p.m. November 2 to the intersection of Sally Piper Road and Farm to Market Road. State Police said 84-year-old Anthony John Scarano of Vestal was driving a 2025 BMW X3 west on Sally Piper Road when he failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign and collided with the school bus, which was traveling north on Farm to Market Road.
The bus driver, 60-year-old James Warner Coyne of Newark Valley, and 23 passengers between the ages of 11 and 18 reported no injuries. Scarano and a 79-year-old female passenger were taken to UHS Wilson Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
State Police said Scarano was issued a traffic citation. The agency did not report any additional charges in its Tuesday release.
