Pennsylvania’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program is accepting applications for the 2026-27 season.

The Department of Human Services says eligible households may receive cash grants ranging from $200 to $1,000, depending on household size, income and fuel type. Crisis grants are also available for households facing an immediate loss of heat or another qualifying heating emergency.

LIHEAP benefits may be used for heating costs including oil, natural gas, electricity, propane and other approved fuels. The grants are sent directly to a household’s heating provider and do not need to be repaid.

Residents may apply through Pennsylvania’s COMPASS website or through a county assistance office. The application season runs from November 2, 2026, through April 23, 2027, subject to available funding.
