The early steps in coming up with a 2013-2014 budget for the Owego-Apalachin School district will take place this week and again next month. The school district has scheduled two budget forums to allow members of the public to share their ideas and recommendations with district officials as budget season begins. The district plans to submit a budget to the Board of Education by March, with the Board voting in April. Residents will get to vote on the school budget in May. Last year they approved a $40.6 million dollar budget that contained no tax levy increase. The first of the two budget forums to field ideas will be 7pm Thursday at Owego Free Academy. A second public forum is scheduled for Thursday, February 14th, at 7 pm.
