The trial began Wednesday morning for a Binghamton woman charged in the death of her three friends. 25-year-old Jaclyn Wesley’s trial began in Broome County Court. Officials charged Wesley with three felony counts of vehicular manslaughter, along with seven other misdemeanors, including driving while intoxicated. The indictment followed an incident in May of 2011 near the Town of Fenton, when Wesley crashed her car off Interstate 88 West and went into the Chenango River. Wesley was drunk at the time of the crash and was the only survivor. Crews recovered the bodies of 39-year-old Carri Michalski, 25-year-old Robert Moorehead, and 45-year-old Robert Marshall from the river. Wednesday, Sergeant Kevin Mauser of the Broome County Sheriff’s Office took to the witness stand, and indentified Wesley as the driver of the vehicle, and testified that he had smelled alcohol on her breath while interviewing her at the scene of the crash.
