Two Elmira men facing charges after attempting to steal e-bike from Walmart

Two Elmira men are behind bars after they allegedly tried to steal an e-bike from Walmart in Athens Township.

According to police, 52-year-old Richard J. Hagenow, Jr. was charged with one count each of retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police also charged 46-year-old Brian M. Emmick with three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of driving while license suspended or revoked.

The suspects were pulled over on Elmira Street by Athens Township Police just after 8:30 p.m. on Sunday night.

Police said both individuals confirmed they had just been at Walmart, and Hagenow allegedly admitted that he had taken the e-bike.

A search of the vehicle also resulted in the discovery of drug paraphernalia.

Both suspects were remanded to the Bradford County Jail on $50,000 bail.
