The City of Binghamton expects to move forward with fixing its Exchange and Clinton Street bridges. City Council met on Monday and discussed construction dates for work on the bridges, and said the bidding process for work could begin as soon as Friday of this week. Eighty percent of the project to repair the concrete, expansion joints, and lighting on the bridges will be paid for using federal funds, with another fifteen percent likely coming from the state. The work would be expected to take around three or four months to complete, and work could begin as soon as this spring.
