Binghamton Mayor Rich David has announced that he will appoint a new City Court judge. The new judge will be Carol Cocchiola. She is expected to take the oath of office and begin work later in the month. All three City Court Judge seats are up for election on November 4th of this year. Once elected, a judge serves a 10-year term beginning on January 1st. Cocchiola has served in the New York State Attorney General’s Office since 1998, representing New York State agencies in federal and state courts. Back in 2012 she was appointed Deputy Assistant Attorney General In Charge. She is a city of Binghamton resident, a graduate of Syracuse University’s College of Law and Duquesne University, and is a member of the Broome County Bar Association.
