New York State Troopers say that the treasurer of the Spencer Volunteer Fire Department stole thousands of dollars from the department. State Police arrested 33-year-old Jennifer Grier after she is accused of taking money from the Spencer Fire Department beginning in 2011. She allegedly took more than $3,000 for personal use. Grier has been working with the department since 2004. She is now facing a charge of grand larceny in the third degree, and she’s been issued an appearance ticket by the Tioga County District Attorney’s Office. Her scheduled day to return to court is May 14th. The investigation is ongoing as more bank records are being obtained by troopers.
