The Broome County Sheriff’s Office has reported a fake bomb threat that was called in to the Dollar General store in the Town of Maine. Patrols responded on Wednesday to the store after employees reported that a male had called the store saying there was a bomb inside, and that if they notified police, they would blow up the building and shoot any responding police. The man on the phone also demanded that employees give him account numbers for pre-paid credit cards. Police arriving on the scene found no bomb and deemed the phone call a scam. The store is back to normal operations but the investigation is ongoing.
