A Waverly man that allegedly injured a Sayre Borough police officer while resisting arrest back in March has entered a guilty plea. 23-year-old Jesse Carling pleaded guilty to four counts of simple assault and one count of disorderly conduct, all misdemeanors. Police had originally charged him with those charges along with two counts of aggravated assault, along with counts for defiant trespassing, public drunkenness, and resisting arrest. Carling was arrested back in March after allegedly attempting to force his way into a bar. When officers responded, police allege that Carling put his hands on an officer’s neck, causing scratches, and also punched him in the head and face. Officers had to use a stun gun to restrain him.
