A Binghamton man has been arrested after police say that he robbed a bank in the town of Chenango. Police responded to the Tioga State Bank at 1430 Upper Front Street, Chenango, after a bank teller hit the alarm button behind the desk. The first sheriff’s deputy on scene confirmed that a robbery had taken place, and relayed the description of the vehicle to dispatch. Within minutes, a New York State Police unit on Route 11 in the Town of Barker began following a vehicle that matched the description. The New York State Police unit was able to stop the vehicle, and found 55-year-old Mark Cunningham behind the wheel. After a brief investigation, evidence from the robbery was found in Cunningham’s vehicle, including the entire amount of cash stolen from the bank. Cunningham’s car was impounded, and Cunningham was arrested and charged with robbery in the 3rd degree.
