Two people were taken to the hospital Thursday morning after a car crash on Interstate 81. According to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, it happened at 4:50 a.m. near Exit 6 on I-81 South in the town of Chenango. Deputies said a car may have swerved to avoid a deer. It went into the median and then went airborne, hitting part of the bridge at the Route 11, Castle Creek Road overpass. Both the driver and passenger of the car were trapped inside the car. The Chenango Fire Department got both of them out and they were taken to Wilson Hospital in Johnson City with non-life threatening injuries. The crash is still under investigation, according to deputies
