A fire that broke out Saturday at a mobile home in the town of Maine was quickly under control. It happened just before 4 p.m. at 685 East Maine Road. Broome County Emergency Communications called it a second-alarm fire. Multiple fire departments were called to respond, including East Maine, Endwell and Chenango. Residents said they had been trying to thaw their frozen pipes with a blow dryer. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
