A Committee in Tioga County opened up a conversation yesterday about the future of the Owego and Waverly mental health clinics. The committee was formed by the legislature late last year, to discuss long-term options for the delivery of mental hygiene services in the county. The creation of the committee was prompted by the lease expiring at the Waverly Office of Mental Hygiene. The committee is currently looking into a new space to rent for the Waverly offices, as well as ways to overhaul its mental health clinics as a whole. There is no set deadline for the completion of the project. The committee said it is too early for any fiscal information. The goal is to allow the county to continue to receive the best services for mental hygiene possible.
