On February 15th, a 20-year-old man from Sayre struck and killed Joseph Pica from Athens. After the accident, Dylan Connor told police he drank at two bars before he drove that night. Now, those two bars are being cited for serving alcohol to minors. Connor was charged with driving while intoxicated and vehicular homicide. Rock & Doc’s Pub and Flat Iron Bar and Grill– both in Sayre– were cited for allegedly serving Connor alcohol, according to the Pennsylvania Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement. If the two bars are found guilty by an Administrative Law Judge, both could face fines up to $5,000 and suspension of licenses– depending on the severity of the charges. Rock & Doc’s Pub was also cited for serving minors, as well as other charges, back in 2000. Sayre Police said Connor admitted to drinking more than nine beers the night of the accident. Later that night, he drove and struck Pica, who was walking on South Wilbur Avenue. If Connor is convicted, he faces a minimum of three years in prison.
