Patrick Bilbrey forced two fumbles, recovered a third for a touchdown, and caught a school-record 98-yard touchdown pass as the Owego Indians demolished Watkins Glen 55-12 to begin the 2015 high school football season on Friday.

As you heard live on WEBO, Watkins Glen scored on the opening possession of the game, but it was all Owego after that. The Indians scored 55 unanswered points while ending six straight Watkins Glen possessions with turnovers, including a blocked punt by Robert Shank.

Quarterback Logan Neira was an efficient 11 for 14 for 256 yards and three touchdowns.

We will be live this Friday, Sept. 11, as the Indians continue their season in Johnson City, against a Wildcats team that fell in Waverly 20 to 6. The Wolverines dominated play on their home turf, leading 20 to nothing until late in the game.

Peyton Miller was the man for Waverly, throwing one touchdown, running in another, and returning an interception 82 yards to pay dirt for the third Wolverines score.

Waverly will be home again this week, as they welcome in Oneonta for a divisional game. We will have updates from that game on WEBO.

In Syracuse, the Orange dominated Rhode Island to win their season opener 47 to nothing at the Carrier Dome on Friday, Sept. 4.

The victory was overshadowed by a season-ending injury to quarterback Terrel Hunt, but backup quarterback Eric Dungey – a true freshman from Oregon – threw for two touchdowns. The Orange defense held Rhode Island to 64 yards of offense for the entire game, including only four rushing yards.

Syracuse is home to Wake Forest this Saturday, Sept. 12, in a game you will hear live on WEBO.
