Area residents gathered yesterday to remember the late Richard Brown. Brown was a former physical education teacher, athletic director, and coach for Owego Free Academy. He coached wrestling, baseball, football, and cross country. He was inducted into the Section 4 Hall of Fame in 1984, the Owego-Apalachin Hall of Fame in 2004, and most recently, the Upstate New York Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2015. He was also a United States Army Veteran. Brown passed away peacefully on Monday at the age of 87.
