Numerous fire departments responded to a fire at Upstate Shredding off of Route 38 in the Town of Owego yesterday. The fire started at the top of a large pile of cars. An initial investigation has indicated that something inside one of the crushed cars ignited, causing the blaze. Campville, Owego, and Newark Valley Fire Departments all responded to the scene.
