The Owego-Apalachin School District has announced that its saving approximately $300,000 in the current repavement of Sheldon Guile Boulevard. The district was promised around $800,000 for the project through FEMA, but managed to knock the actual cost to about $500,000. The district says that it was able to do this through a proven, but underutilized process that recycles the pavement underneath the surface of the roadway, saving on material costs. The process has been in use for nearly 50 years.
