New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has announced that police around the state will be increasing patrols this week looking for drunken or distracted drivers. This year’s Thanksgiving crackdown will begin Wednesday and continue through Sunday. State and local police will increase patrols, set up sobriety checkpoints, and use unmarked cars during the crackdown, according to the governor’s office. Last year’s efforts resulted in more than 300 drunk driving arrests around the state.
