In NASCAR, Jimmie Johnson won his seventh career race at Texas Motor Speedway yesterday. As heard on WEBO, the seven-time series champion started in the back of the field, but methodically worked his way to the front. Ryan Blaney won the first two stages of the race but couldn’t recover after getting out of pit sequence. Erik Jones dominated Saturday’s Xfinity Series race, leading 112 laps en route to victory. Both series are off this weekend to celebrate Easter.
In other sports, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies swept a doubleheader on Saturday, but lost yesterday 8-3 at New Hampshire. They start a series in Portland tonight. The Binghamton Senators beat Syracuse Friday, but lost to St. John’s Saturday. They have three games left this season, at Rochester Wednesday, at Syracuse Friday, and home Saturday.
